It depends on how much you download, if you download too much then it will. You have to make a downloads folder, just go to my documents on your computer then EAGames then Thesims2.Then click create a new folder,then name it downloads.When you go to download stuff from the website,it will automatically go in that folder and should be in your game.

Somoene said that they might slow down yuor computer. Does it? And do you have to save it into a certain file or will it just automatically come along?

go to the sims2 website create an account, go to exchange and there is different catagories like sims(for hair,clothes,make-up,and all that)lots(houses),objects(stuf f),and stories(that people make and put on the site some of them are really good)! Hope I helped(:
